Yarmouth History Center is pleased to host NYA senior Nathanel Peretz’s final presentation of his independent study on Holocaust education in Maine. The presentation will take place on Thursday, April 14 at 4:00 on Zoom. The talk is free and open to all. Please email Katie Worthing (kworthing@yarmouthmehistory.org) for the Zoom link. In November 2021, Peretz’s earlier work on this topic was awarded third place in Yarmouth History Center’s Wellcome Prize competition.
About the project: As part of an independent study course, Nathanel Peretz decided to create a curriculum (Lesson Plan) to teach teenagers in the state of Maine about the Holocaust. He has worked for a full year on this Lesson Plan. As a final Project, he put together an hour presentation about the Holocaust. His project consists of a PowerPoint Presentation and a short film produced and directed by himself, called Ann Kazimirski- A Witness to Horror. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate the importance of Holocaust Education to prevent future genocides from ever happening again, to teach and learn about the signs, to develop interventions, and because of our collective responsibility to remember the six million victims of the Holocaust.
About the speaker: Nathanel Peretz, a native of Montreal, Quebec, is presently a senior at North Yarmouth Academy.
