- Archaeologist Arthur Anderson will share insights about a fascinating artifact in our collection that was made with prized material from Labrador between 1000 and 2000 years ago.

- Speaker: Thomas Hubka, architectural historian and author of Big House, Little House, Back House, Barn: The Connected Farm Buildings of New England
- Title: Connected Farm Buildings
- Big House, Little House has been in continuous publication for almost 40 years and is a standard for New England architecture history and cultural studies. The book has “the suspense of a detective story and at times the poignance of deeply felt, sympathetic and social history” (Boston Globe). By using local examples of connected farmhouses, Prof. Hubka will illustrate the unique architectural heritage that surrounds us. Professor Hubka is a Professor Emeritus in the Dept. of Architecture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Architecture.

- Title: In Context: Yarmouth History Center’s Portrait of Sarah Chambers (c. 1844)
- Art historian Linda Docherty will contextualize the History Center’s portrait of Sarah Chambers by Maine artist Eliza McLellan Mayall (1822-1849). She will discuss early 19th century American portraiture, women artists, and the role art played New England society.
