Our summer show in the Stonewall Gallery is Refuge by Yarmouth artist Sheri Oliva. Stop in soon to immerse yourself in a rich array of Maine landscapes that include a variety of land forms, perspectives, and atmospheres. Some pieces feel like abstract dreamscapes while others explore the physicality of familiar Maine textures, like seaweed on rocks. Of her work, Oliva writes:
Many pieces are very textured because I like to rework them. I also often paint over old paintings. Each session is time spent again in these quiet, pristine places- both seen and imagined.
The show will be on view through August 31, 2024.
The Stonewall Gallery is located inside the Yarmouth History Center at 118 East Elm Street in Yarmouth, Maine. Our hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00-4:00.
