Thanks to Yarmouth Municipal Television, the recording of this wonderful program is now available to view online.
Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1:00~Join us at the History Center at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, May 4 to learn more about Yarmouth during the years 1955-1962, a pivotal era for the town. These years brought a new public high school, the bridge to Cousins Island, and the arrival of the interstate, all of which changed the way people lived and worked in Yarmouth. Come hear from a panel of speakers, including representatives from the last class of local students who attended NYA while it still served as Yarmouth’s public high school. In a conversational format, our panelists will share their insights and experiences gained from living and learning in Yarmouth at this important time. There will be opportunities for questions from the audience, too, so we encourage long-time Yarmouth residents, new arrivals, students, and anyone who wants to learn more about local history to attend and participate. This program is free and open to all. It is a collaboration between Yarmouth Historical Society and Allan Wilson and Rick Wile, both members of the NYA class of 1961.
Yarmouth History Center is located at 118 East Elm Street in Yarmouth, Maine. Our regular open hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00-4:00.
