Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 pm ~ Yarmouth History Center welcomes historian Michael Connolly to the Spring Lecture Series at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10. Connolly will kick off our 2020 lecture series with a talk about the history of Maine’s Irish longshoremen.
Michael Connolly is Professor of History and Political Science at St. Joseph’s College in Standish. A lifelong resident of Portland, Connolly spent a year abroad in Dublin and then returned to Ireland for a master’s degree in modern Irish history at the National University of Ireland followed by a doctorate at Boston College. His research has focused on Irish and Irish-American history and the labor movement in Ireland and America along with maritime studies and has led to the publication of multiple works.
With the support of the Leon and Lisa Gorman Fund, the lecture is offered free of charge to all. Yarmouth History Center is located at 118 East Elm Street in Yarmouth.
