On view now! Stop in to see our newest exhibit, Keep Me Posted: Yarmouth’s Seafaring Correspondence, 1850-1870, which showcases some of the stories and experiences captured in mid-19th century letters to and from Yarmouth’s sailors and ship captains. Not only do these letters convey the challenges faced by mariners and their families back home in Yarmouth, they also capture the poignant and enduring worry that disaster or illness had befallen one of the correspondents in the long gap between letters. The exhibit will be on view through March 2018 and includes letters and objects from several of Yarmouth’s seafaring families, including the Curtis, Humphrey, Lane, Drinkwater, and Small families.
