Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 pm ~ Yarmouth History Center welcomes quilt historian Kathy Kenny to the Spring Lecture Series at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23. Kenny will speak about the “feedsack and fancy work” quilts of the 1920s, ‘30s, and ‘40s and will illustrate her talk with 30 antique quilts from her extensive collection. Join us to see and learn more about these beautiful quilts from an expert quilter and historian.
Kathy Kenny grew up in Downeast Maine and developed a love of quilts and textiles at an early age. She has been involved locally and nationally in all aspects of quilting, including being an exhibitor, appraiser, fiber artist, teacher, and designer. The antique quilts shown in her lectures are from her own collection, which includes over 200 quilts. They have been displayed at various venues, including the Maine State House and the Mamie Dowd Eisenhower Library in Broomfield, Colorado.
This lecture is free for members of Yarmouth Historical Society and $5 for all others. The lecture series is sponsored by the Leon and Lisa Gorman Fund.
