Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 pm ~ Yarmouth History Center welcomes Julie Larry of Greater Portland Landmarks to the Spring Lecture Series at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18. In a talk entitled What Style is My House?, Ms. Larry will explore the various architectural styles found in our area, how to identify them, and the ways in which these styles evolved in relation to political, economic, and social changes. She will also discuss why most houses embody more than just one style and how we can sometimes tie stylistic changes in a house to changes in ownership.
Julie Larry is Director of Advocacy at Greater Portland Landmarks. Prior to joining Landmarks, Ms. Larry was a partner for eighteen years at ttl-architects, an architecture and preservation firm in Portland. A Maine native, she was drawn to the preservation field as an extension of her support for environmental conservation.
This lecture is free for members of Yarmouth Historical Society and $5 for all others. The lecture series is sponsored by the Leon and Lisa Gorman Fund.
