Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 pm ~ Yarmouth Historical Society and Royal River Conservation Trust are pleased to present a free film screening of The Barkley Marathons on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 pm. This quirky, award-winning 2015 documentary profiles the unusual Barkley Marathon in Tennessee, a race based on a failed prison escape that has seen only 10 finishers in its first 25 years. “With a secret application process, unknown start time, and treacherous terrain, the Barkley has gained cult-like status with ultra-runners and amateurs alike.” It will be shown at the Yarmouth History Center at 118 East Elm Street.
The Royal River Film Series, which is planned jointly by Yarmouth Historical Society and Royal River Conservation Trust, is sponsored by R.M. Davis, with cookies by Maple’s. The series runs monthly, except December, through March 2019 with the following films:
January 17: Jane
February 28: Mission Blue
March 21: Losing Sight of Shore
