Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 pm ~ The Yarmouth Historical Society and the Royal River Conservation Trust are pleased to present a free film screening of From Billions to None: The Passenger Pigeon’s Flight to Extinction, an award-winning documentary about the disappearance of one of North America’s most abundant birds. The films follows naturalist and author Joel Greenberg as well as scientists, artists, and teachers as they investigate this beautiful species and its connections to today’s conservation challenges. The film will be shown at the Yarmouth History Center at 118 East Elm Street. Professor Susan Wegner from the Art History department at Bowdoin College will introduce the film and its subject.
This is the fourth film in a series planned jointly by the Yarmouth Historical Society and the Royal River Conservation Trust. The series will continue on the third Thursday of each month through March (no film in December) with the following films:
