The Yarmouth Historical Society and the Royal River Conservation Trust are pleased to present a free film screening on Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 pm. Join us at the History Center for American Challenge: Alone Against the Atlantic, a riveting documentary that tracks seven solo sailors competing in the 1980 Observer Singlehanded TransAtlantic Race (OSTAR). One of these sailors is Yarmouth’s own Walter Greene, who not only skippered his own boat, but also built and designed three other vessels in the race, including the eventual winner.
This is the third film in a series planned jointly by the Yarmouth Historical Society and the Royal River Conservation Trust. The series will continue on the third Thursday of each month through March (no film in December).
