What makes a handwritten letter so wonderful to read? Is it in the writer’s rich details, humorous observations, or tenderly expressed sentiments? How can letters written 100 or even 200 years ago help us understand their correspondents as well as our own times?
Join Yarmouth History Center in collaboration with Quill & Cue on Zoom at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8 as we explore some great letters from the past. Yarmouth History Center Executive Director Katie Worthing will share some of her favorite letters from the collection and discuss why they remain so compelling and fascinating today. Learn about the lives of a few of Yarmouth’s past residents through the letters they wrote and sent all around the world. See how writers captured their thoughts and shared them with friends and family, perhaps finding inspiration for your own handwritten letters along the way.
Register for this free online program here and join us on Tuesday!
