Stop by the Stonewall Gallery at Yarmouth History Center in May and June to see fresh contemporary art by the members of Seven Artists Collective. The exhibit, Collectively Composed, features abstract works that range from bold and vibrant explorations of color, movement, and medium to quiet meditations on form and relationship.
Members of the Collective include Emily Blaschke, Jenny Campbell, Alicia Ines Ethridge, Celeste June Henriquez, Doreen Nardone, Brenda Overstrom, and Donald M. Peterson. The members all met during a 2015 abstract painting class at Maine College of Art taught by abstract painter and printmaker Michel Droge, who continues to be a mentor and contributor to the group. Of their collective and collaborative process, the group writes: “We have maintained our group as an evolving entity that has cultivated growth both within our individual studios and in our group presence in the arts community. Each painter continues to explore and expand their unique language of abstraction and to express their visions of the world around them and their experiences in it.”
Collectively Composed will be on view at the Stonewall Gallery through July 2, 2021. The Gallery is located inside the Yarmouth History Center at 118 East Elm Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Masks are required to enter.
