Wednesday, October 18 at 7:00 pm ~ Join us at Yarmouth History Center for our Annual Meeting and Lecture on October 18 at 7:00 pm. We will begin the evening with a brief business meeting for members to elect new and renewing board members.
Following the business meeting, Executive Director Katie Worthing will speak about our newest collections acquisition, a wonderful 1844 watercolor of the Yarmouth-built bark Henry Kelsey. This watercolor, by French artist Honore Pellegrin, depicts the Henry Kelsey entering Marseille harbor under the command of Capt. J. A. Gray. Katie will share more details about this fascinating painting and discuss it within its wider art historical context. She will also illuminate its strong links to Yarmouth history and the many ways it enhances our collection. The lecture is free and open to all.
