We invite you to the Yarmouth History Center on Thursday July 16 at 7:00 pm for “Talk of the Townies,” a special program and talk about Yarmouth’s own Townies baseball team. Joining us will be Jim Baumer, author of When Towns Had Teams, the definitive book about town teams in Maine during the mid-twentieth century. We encourage the public to bring memories, photos, and other memorabilia related to the Townies to share during this event. This is a free program. Jim Baumer’s book will be available for purchase and autographs.
This program is offered in conjunction with the Yarmouth Clam Festival’s 50th anniversary as we celebrate the Townies’ many championship wins. Be sure to look for the History Center’s baseball-themed float in the Clam Festival Parade on Friday, July 17.
