Distilled in Maine: Book Talk and Tasting on October 9
The Yarmouth Historical Society welcomes author, teacher, and food blogger Kate McCarty to the History Center at 7:00 pm on October 9. McCarty’s newly published book chronicles the tumultuous history of distilling in Maine, from the rum trade through temperance and prohibition and finally to today’s resurgence in locally-made craft spirits. She will discuss this intriguing era of Maine history. Of course, samples of historic cocktails and mocktails will be available to try as well as samples of locally-produced spirits from Maine Distilleries, makers of Cold River Vodka.
Tickets for this event are $25 ($20 for members of Yarmouth Historical Society) and are available to purchase online.
